When I'm feeling the need for calories, I make a 'Double Pizza.'
I make enough dough for two pizzas, and lightly bake each separately without any toppings. I use a cast iron deep sukiyaki pan (it's a cross-cultural event) well buttered with garlic butter and put one of the crusts in, and add the toppings; tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, sliced peperoni, Italian sausage, etc. Then I put the second crust on top of everything, and build what amounts to a second pizza on that! Back into the oven for a quick melt-down of the cheeses, and it's "Happy Tongue Time" in the Stitchawl dinning room!
