I believe it was soon after B&N bought FW 3/5/2009. There was no announcement but I found out by looking for it at the time also. There is another thread about it here:

Fictionwise's access to that library is down at the moment and it may not be coming back (I spoke to someone very helpful on the phone at Fictionwise). Fictionwise haven't yet got around to changing the page that mentions libwise so just wanted to make sure other people knew about this.
