However, you are protected under other language on the site (and actual law) - they can't charge you more than you agreed to when your purchased, which is the pre-order date, not the release date.
The publisher can cancel the books, though, and add them back (which some did with non-free books, but I've only once had happen with mistakenly free ones).

Ah, thanks. I didn't realize there was a distinction.
And dang, I wish I'd been able to get in on the Lemony Snicket glitch. I have 'em all in print, but that's a LARGE series to carry around, and they're pretty quick reads. Much easier digitally.
