I don't know about the Nook Color, I was thinking of using the nook STR. Its form factor and touch keyboard works perfectly for this. With the nook you could slip an entire library of interactive fiction in your backpack or purse.

The interactive fiction texts aren't written in ePub and would have to be side-loaded. You don't need to pay anything for most of them since they are already in the Public Domain. Certainly the Zork series is along with most of the old Infocom library, and there are dozens if not hundreds of other interactive fiction books offered free.
