The OP hasn't come back with any further details or updates, but my experience has been that that depending on your router, you do sometimes have to set them to be compatible with G/or B networks. I recently upgraded my router, and in previewing the manuals before I bought mine, it seemed that the more expensive and/or newer models assume an N connection initially, and by default don't support G or B devices (they also run faster if everything is N, which can be important to some people).
