I am really asking this b/c I just used the plugin in Calibre to remove the DRM from an amazon book but it seemed too easy. Is there a way I can tell that it actually worked?
If you can open and read the book with calibre's viewer, it doesn't have DRM. It gives you a DRM error message if it does have DRM.

If you're unclear whether the original had DRM, delete the ebook in question from your calibre library, disable the plugin, re-import the ebook and see if you get the DRM warning when you try to view it.

This way, you'll know if the plugin is working, but really.... yes, it's that easy.

Don't forget to re-enable the plugin.
