I just went through this trying to order some software. I finally got so fed up, I did a web search, found another company offering just about the same program for the same price, and put my order through 1,2,3!

Then I wrote a letter to customer support at the first company (the one that kept telling me that none of my three billing cities existed...) to cancel any order than may have gone through, explaining why I needed to cancel, and that I bought another program from a different company.

THEN I received an e-mail from that customer support, human answered, not a auto-reply, saying 'We like to solve our customer problems and we don't understand your problem." I wrote back "Did you see the first line that said CANCEL the order? And did you see where I said that I bought a different program already from another company?" They wrote back, quickly too, that yes, they saw it but they really wanted to help me fix the problem.

I wrote back. "Good. Fix the problem by canceling any order of mine that may have gone through." They wrote back saying they would do so. The next day I received order confirmation, serial number for the software and a note saying 'we thank you for your order...'

Have I been away from English too long? Could I have said to cancel the order in any more clear fashion?
