The main thing is that it's PURELY a touch reader; unlike the nook, it has no page turn buttons. Touch screens may have their uses for selecting books, etc, but personally I like good old-fashioned buttons when it comes to turning the page. The Kobo also has significant software limitations, such as the fact that it doesn't support hyperlinks in a book. That, to me, is a very significant limitation.
