You could see the progress report at the top of the screen but it didn't interfere with doing anything. I think the process took 20 or 30 seconds. Then a screen popped up and asked me if I wanted to install now and this would require an auto reboot ... or ... I can wait until the device next went to sleep.

The result was: noticeably faster page turns, an option when a book is open to see advanced settings with a mid-page tap and that's where you set the refresh (defaulted to six pages), and they've done something to impact the residual ghosting even with the default setting. If I take my reading glasses off and put my nose to the screen I was (finally) able to see the faint ghosting that lasted for five screens with the previous update (1.9.2). Now, I can't see it leaving the default setting of 6 page turns.

Also, it seems like they have tweaked the speed of wifi re-connections. It's a total guess, of course, but I wonder if these trade-offs slightly impact battery life. It's certainly worth it if that's the case.
Glad you are enjoying the update. We don't project any battery impact due to the changes based on our testing.
