Agreed, 40g isn't much of a spread. Of the 6-inch ereaders, you can get a difference of about 2x from a Cybook Gen3 (174g or 6.1oz) to a classic NOOK 3G WiFi (343g or 12.1oz).

Across screen sizes, as expected, the weight increases with larger screens, almost by a difference of 5x if you allow an iPad as an ereader. See Ereader Weight vs Screen Size.
