The commercially published ebooks that you can purchase from B&N, called "Nook Books"
are .epub. Generally, these ebooks use the same fonts and other graphic elements as
are used in the paper book. Most nontechnical books use serif fonts, for the majority of
the text. The JBL, since the 0.16e firmware update, uses the Adobe Reader Mobile for
.epub and .pdf files.

I take it that you have not yet seen or used a JBL and are addressing issues that you
feel could effect your satisfaction with the device, should you decide to purchase one.

If the use of a sanserif font in .txt files causes you the grief you claim, then perhaps the
JBL is not for you and you should stick to your Kindle.
