302 won't connect to PC or recognize SD card
I got a 302 this past Christmas but never really did anything with it beyond the initial charging and fiddling with the already loaded books. I leave tomorrow on a train trip from New York to Florida before going on a 7 day cruise and then returning by train to New York. The train trip is about 18 hours each way and I figured I'd spend some time playing with the 302 comparing it to my rooted 1st gen Nook.
So I plugged my brand new 32GB Class AData MicrosSDHC card into the 302 and plugged the 302 into the computer. According to the manual it's supposed to ask me if I want to charge or connect to the computer for content loading. I got the Bookland.net screen that I first see when it turns on and then it goes to the main menu screen and starts charging. Nothing about connecting to the computer. I checked my computer and it doesn't see it at all. So then I start poking around the settings to see if there's something in there I need to select or unselect. Can't find anything about that but I do find that the 302 only recognizes my SD card as being 16 *MB* instead of 32 *GB* and of that 16MB only 6MB are available.
What is going on? Four different computers recognize the memory card and there's nothing on it so I know that's not the issue. I've tried connecting the 302 to two different computers and neither of them will recognize it. Both are running WinXP SP2. Am I missing something or do I have a new paperweight? Because I can only read Hounds of the Baskervilles so many times.
