Yes, and what genre they have depends on the selection. They do sometimes have NY Times bestseller-ish stuff (they had an Armistead Maupin novel a while ago), but generally the selection seems to be picked mostly from pre-existing freebies that are already on promotion in the other stores.

Occasionally they do a double-freebie feature by supplementing the regular one with a B&N Classics edition or something from their in-house "Sterling Publishing" imprint.

Mind you, lately they've gotten more "exclusive" freebies, such as the sf/fantasy novels from Night Shade Books and some feature-to-promote-new-release-sequel stuff from other publishers which doesn't pop up in the other stores until later/not at all.

And I think they might be trending towards doing more of that, with the new "Free Fridays Recommends" where they now ask the feature author to recommend some favourite e-books for the reader to buy.

Yes, the Free Fridays category on B&N's official "Unbound" blog where they promote new and featured NOOKbooks (or however they're spelling it nowadays). Be warned, if you see a Friday freebie you want, pick it up immediately (after reading the comments to make sure there are no surprise-billing issues). They tend to expire pretty quickly and may not make it even as far as the full weekend.
