People with eReaders put them in plastic bags to protect them in environments with lots of moisture -- pool areas, gyms, bathrooms. Basically anywhere with sweat or water or really high humidity.
A tight enough bag might stretch across the bezel, but...
Just one more reason why touch screen devices need a way to disable the touch screen temporarily with a physical key, I think.
