Your list of favorite quotes gives the lie to your argument.

And arguing that a person must rise early in order to be a good person because I rise early is different than arguing that a classic work is valuable because many people have read and agreed upon its value. The first argues from a single individual's experience, the second argues from the larger experience of much of a society/culture.
