See FBReader - trap buttons?. The, not very elegant, fix for 0.8.4 is to add killall to run.sh (and then to exit using the Upper Left/Quit Button). FBReader is invoked by a shell script (fbreader.sh) in 8.1.14, so a similar approach may work here.
