unfortunately no, it doesn't speed it up, if anything, it might be a little slower. the problem comes down to it creating entries on the kobo itself; it create 4 parsed files, which are used for particular pieces of the menu. I added about 100 books and I believe it was about 20-30 minutes for it to process, and the new one doesn't currently have a progress bar, so it's hard to determine how long it might take.

Of course the upside is, like the old kobo, it only has to process once for the added books, and will only do it afterwards for newly added books.
