I found out the other night that if you access gmail through skweezer.com, you can get the direct link and download the attachment.
It's not ideal*, but it does work, and I was able to download my book by 3g before they closed the airplane doors.

Also, there is a hack for addressing the seperate window issue if you're so inclined. I have not tried it myself yet.


*When you view the email in skweezer and click on the download link, you'll get an error that skweezer can't handle it. Click on the 'view without skweezer' link on the error page, and, poof, you get the book.
how much simpler if the k3 just had a k2-like simple browser mode or if gmail would just offer the simple wap style mobile view.
