Astra: Welcome back. No idea what happened, but as you say, it's in the past. We're glad you decided to come back here.

The aspartame/diet soda debate will rage on (ad infinitum, I suspect), but Prof. Crash is right, it makes some of us grumpy, LOL. Which is why KK is "voicing" her protests over my continued partaking of diet dr pepper in Dog and Cat. Actually my partaking thereof has dropped considerably since I had that tummy virus a week ago - and as of this posting, I have no idea what it's going to be replaced with should that become necessary.
Iced tea seems to so far be the one thing that I'm enjoying the most - but I'm finally nearly out of the black tea samples I had, so I'm using family sized tea bags. My Philistinian taste buds don't seem to be able to tell the difference, though I found I really, really enjoyed the Adagio raspberry black tea iced (couldn't stand it hot). The disadvantage to iced tea over diet dr pepper is that while I end up drinking more of it (and therefore keeping myself better hydrated), I can't drink it room temperature, (I can with soda), so we're going through a TON of ice. And I don't have an ice maker. It also takes a little more forethought than opening a bottle of soda.

My Dad will make pots of regular tea extra strong and then store them in plastic water bottles in the fridge so that he can grab them when he wants one. I am not a huge fan of the plastic water bottles, I would prefer her reuse glass bottles or just make a pitcher and fill and go.

If you do this you can still have your open and drink beverage for a while.

I know people who make ice out of their tea as well. Fill the ice cube trays with tea. Then transfer the frozen tea into a container and store in the fridge. Your Ice Tea is less watered down and you can do it at the same time as you make large pots of tea to store in the fridge for an easy drink on the go.

Maybe do this on a night that you are not busy and set yourself up for a few days.
