This should be a debate about the "Eco-System", not these specific devices. Right now I have more faith in the Amazon ecosystem, than I do w/ B&N, for many reasons. With the pending purchase of B&N, I don't see this changing (probable worse for B&N).
Ideally, I don't want to be forced into any ecosystem, but, that's what DRM has created for us. So it's up to you to pick the lesser of two evils, for you.
This is similar to age old question, Apple vs Microsoft.
