So, after him-haw'ing for a few weeks about upgrading to a newer Kindle, I finally decided to take the plunge and ordered one of the special offer Kindles. I raided the couch-cushions, my crown/catch-all, and scraped a few bucks out of my side-projects account and ordered one this morning.
I bought my first Kindle at Best Buy a couple years ago, so I never had the "Amazon" experience with purchasing. It was normal, except the checkout had something I'd yet to see in all my time buying stuff from Amazon - "Local Express Delivery."
Figured that would be fun to see. I had this image in my head of a squad of ninja couriering the parcel across treacherous terrain to meet the delivery deadline, or else my pizza would be free and they'd be forced to commit seppuku.
Unfortunately, I didn't get my pizza for free and there was no bloodshed (that I know of). But, a mere 6 1/2 hours after hitting "BUY THIS KINDLE, NOW! DO IT!", my package has arrived.
I guess Amazon really wants people to have these things.
I really wanted the free pizza, too...
