Before she was allowed downstairs in the store we rotated the door handle counter clockwise so it was sticking up, that made it harder for her to open the door at the top of the stairs. I put a catflap in my bedroom door because, although she can open doors, she never mastered closing them and when my heater is on all the warmth escapes.
She occasionally opens my sisters door when she is alone and wants to get out but it isn't as flexible as she once was and makes a lot of noise, when we hear her attempts we usually open the door for her.

Fortunately all our doors have round knobs - which are a challenge. If we had levers, I'm sure she would master those right away! Good thing she doesn't have thumbs!
