I have the lighted cover for my Sony--not as integrated as the Kindle--it takes it's own battery (aaa), and doesn't automatically shut off when the Sony goes to sleep. But I really do like the cover--it does add a a bit of bulk to the reader, but not really that much--even with the lighted cover my Sony 650 is still smaller and lighter than my Nook Classic.
But, at least in the US, these covers are hard to come by now. Sony doesn't seem to be making them any more--so if you want one your best bet is probably e-Bay. I'm very glad I bought mine back when I bought my reader!
