My seadaddy was a IC1 (Interior Communications Mate, First Class). He did a good job of keeping my six out of trouble, and teaching me the ways of the fleet. This was during the final days of Vietnam. I did all my sailing in the Pacific Ocean.

Currently, I am reading Ben Franklinīs Autobiography. What a man! What ingenuity; he took situations that were dangerous and didnīt seem to have much of a solution, and created solutions that both parties liked, and made a tidy profit for himself in a number of them. He early developed the ability to think critically, then learned to hold his tongue until asked for his opinion.

I would like to see a discussion of sites for free/inexpensive books, or trading sites. Maybe there are some in the other forums. I will have to look.
