Preparation is collecting glasses and bowls scattered around the various rooms of my apartment, then getting the cat out of the sink (he likes to nap there sometimes) and then definitely some self-motivation.

Usually, by the time I get back to kitchen to actually DO the dishes, my roommate has already gotten them done. It works out very nicely.

Sadly enough, I don't have a roommate to do the dishes for me ...
