Specifically in the tablet space? IMO only if certain things happen:
- Apple iPads undergo some sort of crippling and widespread hardware failure/security breech/huge customer service gaffe which no amount of Cupertino spin can correct;
- Sony truly embraces Android and the entire development community, avoiding completely their historical propensity for proprietary, locked-down technologies;
- Sony spends enormous money on global advertising, marketing and promotion, targeting as wide a demographic as possible;
- Sony employs the same unbeatable pricing strategy as they [and Microsoft reportedly] did with their console gaming systems, absorbing gigantic short term losses in order to saturate the market as much as possible;
- Sony comes up with some truly unique and real-world useful features/HW specs/apps.
- Sony makes sweetheart, too-good-to-turn-down-deals with global telcos and cellular service data providers.
Otherwise, I kinda think its pretty much Apple's game to lose in this space at this point.
But I also thought the Mets would lose the series in '86 so what the heck do I know...
