I'd say sell DRM free from your own site.

Most current DRM schemes have been broken, applying one will only serve to:

* Increase your costs if you have to license a DRM solution
* Put off some customers from buying your books
* Limit the range of devices your books can be used on

What it won't do is stop people who wish to pirate the book. One person will know enough to remove the DRM and everyone else will just download that version.

Point your client to Baen books as an example of a company that is successful selling books with zero DRM in multiple formats. Make the lack of DRM a selling point.

But to answer your question, if you must have DRM go with something like Adobe's wrapped around the ePub format. It'll at least give you a wider range of reading devices. Although it has been broken so it's not really going to offer you much protection.
