Why remove them from the account?
Think of the account as a SINGLE library, accessible from anywhere at any time. Why would you not want to share books with your own family once the kids move out? Just because the kids are gone it doesn't mean you have to stop sharing books. One day, when the kids have their own credit cards, they can be used on YOUR kobo account, so purchases can be made easily by anyone.
