I am glad to see that I am not the only one who feels this way. However, I am going to be a little bit less PC and say that a reader
without a page count such as Sony Reader has would not suit me at all. I cannot imagine reading a book without knowing exactly the number of pages in total, the number of pages till the end and how "deep" into the book I am at any given moment.
