Well first I bought a Sony PRS-300. After using it for a while I thought that it was rather basic in terms of it's functionality and decided to upgrade to something better. I now use the K3. My main reasons for choosing to buy it were

1. Ability to download books directly to the device
2. Linked to dedicated book store with more books than the stores I was currently using
3. Good customer support network in place in case I encounter problems
4. Ability to read and sync my books on other devices
5. Increased memory
6. Bigger range of font sizes and ability to change line spacing, font, words per line etc

Less important reasons:

7. Ability to highlight, annotate and search my books
8. Text to speech
9. Web browser
10. Ability to listen to store audiobooks - I have other devices which can do this but it's nice to be able to keep all my books together.
11. Pearl E-ink screen
