I use Fancy Widget Pro on mine and it works just fine. It's the paid one from Amazon.
I don't think the Weather will ever work if that's what's not working, as there is no Location awareness on this device. So, just use the clock widget, and it works just like normal.

I haven't tried Flight Control yet, but it sounds like it would be fun on the larger screen. I've collected nearly all the Free Paid Apps of the Day so far

Looking at your other apps, Instead I use NewsRob for my news reader and Dolphin Browser HD

For other slow games to add to your list: (all from Amazon's free paid apps of the day)
WSOP - it loads but too SLOOWWW
Skeeball - runs, but too sllloowww
Gem Miner - runs, but slooowww

also it doesn't like MKV files, it plays them, but its just not powerful enough to keep up, DivX files play great though.
