I haven't rooted, never even considered it, but there was some discussion on the MobileRead forum about rooting recently (in the enTourage eDGe section https://www.mobileread.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=218).

I know it's above my pay grade (I'm definitely geek-lite ), but why root the device? Does it not do what you want without that? (Just curious -- maybe I don't even understand what it means. )
