To potential buyers of the eDGe Devices: I know that many of you may be reading these forums and are wondering what's going on. I recommend you go through these forums thoroughly. You should be informed. Let me start by telling you that the eDGe is a great device! It is a wonderful way to read pdf files and ebooks, and is almost unique in giving you the ability to annotate pdf's without a full PC and expensive software. The dual book concept is fantastic, and having the two screens gives you lots of flexibility. I recommend you carefully evaluate the device, and if it does what you need in its current form, then buy it! My only caveat is that you should not expect software upgrades going forward. We dont know what will happen. The eDGe runs Android 1.6, and the availability of Android 2.2 is really unknown at this point. So, if you like the eDGe for what it is, get it. If you are expecting new software, then I recommend you dont buy it because the future, as yet, is unclear at best. I give the same advice to friends recently contemplating buying an Android 2.2 device like the Samsung Galaxy Tab. To think that it will get upgraded to Android 3.0, in my opinion, is magical thinking. Android upgrades are not on the internet, they have to come from the company. The company's best interest is to sell you a new piece of hardware. (I do realize that people who are into developing are able to make such things happen, I am addressing the average person who just uses a device)

Please know that these thoughts are strictly my own, and I am in no way trying to reflect the views of Entourage (which are unknown!), any forum participant, or any one else in the world. It's just from me.

To my Forum colleagues:
I believe that the key to avoiding trouble is the management of expectations. Entourage has not done this at all, which has led to this speculation and "digital frenzy". My goal is to tell potential buyers that they shouldnt expect anything in the future. By being realistic, everyone can be satisfied and not be waiting for what may never arrive.
