USB cable connection not recognized: Simple solution

This is the summary of another thread for the sake of others with the same problem.

1. The Edge USB cable got lost.
2. I bought a USB-miniUSB cable at a store. Not the cheapest one because the seller said the cheap ones might not transfer audio files very well (?).
3. When I connected the USB to EE and to my PC, nothing was detected in either side.
4. I used another Motorola cable provided by my husband, and recognition was immediate, and file transfer worked well.

So not all cables provide connectivity, and in case of issues, it's wise to try with a good quality cable as a first troubleshooting step. It worked for me.
