Armadillos get a lot of credit, since they're trying to be reptiles. As everyone in Texas knows, they're born dead by the side of the road. (So I was told by a Texan.) If the others are roadkill as well (coyote?!), then it's be pointless to name them after geckos. But where is ermine roadkill? I think only in semi-mythical places, such as Canada.
