A great tool for slicing PDFs

As of yesterday, I am the proud owner of a new EE! I started a Ph.D. program this past fall and have been scouring the web for the perfect academic eReader. It astonishes me that other device makers have utterly failed to make an eInk device that satisfies even basic PDF annotation needs. I tried the Kindle but was utterly disappointed when I realized the highlights and notes cannot be saved to the PDF or viewed anywhere but on the Kindle.

Even if the EE isn't as sleek and light as some devices, it exceeds my greatest expectations for academic work. Thanks to some good posts on the forum I was able to take it to class today and make great use of it.

I thought I could contribute one thing to the forum for those of you who are looking to cut down two-page scans or multi-column PDFs for better viewing. A-PDF Page Cut is a light and user-friendly tool for slicing and dicing PDFs into more manageable portions. I use it on my computer and then drop the PDF into my Dropbox to be opened on the EE with the Dropbox app. It works like a charm. The trial version is free and will put a modest watermark on the first page of your document. It's incredibly useful and intuitive. http://www.a-pdf.com/page-cut/?product-pc

Thanks to the forum regulars who made me feel confident taking the plunge with the EE. I'm sure I won't look back.
