FWIW, I haven't had the Wifi scanning issue on my EE but I have had it on two different Android 1.6 G1's. The only fix I found was a full wipe back to factory default settings (both had been wiped previously within 4-6 months of the bug cropping up). I'm not suggesting you do this to your device specifically but after you have exhausted all of your options with tech support, it may be your only option. Make sure you backup everything before taking this measure. Since it has happened on other non-entourage 1.6 devices, it may have nothing to do with them and just be a bug in Android that manifests itself on a rare occasion.
