Using the free software that Cheyennedonna told us about, I converted one of my DVDs to iPad (H.264 720p), and it worked fine (though, it was small on the EE screen). I am now trying one with the iPod (.MP4, 640x480) setting to see if it makes a difference. I'll let y'all know

EDIT: The iPod format was the same screen size as the iPad-formatted movie, was much faster for conversion, was about 20% smaller in size, and had very similar quality.
