One thing you can do to make PDFs easier to read is to show the Menu at the bottom of the reader and go "View" then "PDF Reflow". This will toggle the display mode to focus on displaying the text of the PDF without the original formatting. Depending on the PDF, this might be completely satisfactory and you can read it much more easily, much like an EPUB. Some PDFs, particularly ones with two columns or perhaps a PDF form, may not work well at all in this mode. Never hurts to try. Simply untoggle the mode if you don't like it.
