Trackball Problem

I recently purchased the Pocket Edge. After setup and registration, I sometimes am having problems with the trackball working after boot up. It doesn't seem to work at all until I reboot sometimes. Sometimes I have to reboot several times before it works. I am careful to wait until it has completely booted up prior to opening anything so as not to interfere with the boot up process. Any ideas?
