Nice! I am thinking of getting an HTC Desire Z with 2.2 partly so I can tether, but was worried that it wouldn't work with the eDGe since I figured that in addition to 2.2 the phone would need special hardware (like the EVO 4G) to broadcast in infrastructure mode so the eDGe can see it.

Which phone do you have? Is it one that creates a hotspot for several devices like the Evo 4G?
