I actually went to the HSN site and read through all the negative reviews. I wanted to find out what the complaints were about. The majority were ridiculous, although some were legitimate.
A previous poster covered the complaints pretty accurately: non-replaceable battery, which meant the item would be dead an useless in 4 years; the ereader side wasn't lit; one said it wasn't as easy to navigate as the iPad or Kindle (well duh!). It's too complicated was a frequent complaint. Many complaints were from people having problems setting it up (imo, this is not a ridiculous complaint btw). My favorites were from people who said there were other items available that did similar things (Coby ereader was mentioned twice in this regard).
So it seems people were either having problems setting up the device and having problems getting through to support or completely clueless about what they were purchasing.
