For note taking, some users have commented in the past that picking a blank background (rather than the default lined one) gets rid of the minor lag (and for some, frees them to write notes smaller). One nice thing about the book form factor of both eDGe models is that it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb like a laptop would in situations where you don't want to attract attention to it (or distract others from more important matters ).

As for the audio pop, definitely mention this to Tech Support. Perhaps a software update can remove it.
