Yup - verified. Nice catch.

Specifically:
- turn off the hardware wifi switch and wait for the Airplane symbol to appear on the Notification bar
- wait 30 seconds (to ensure everything is settled)
- turn on the hardware wifi switch and as soon as the Airplane symbol disappears, turn it back off
- the eDGe will continue to make the wifi connection, and you'll be able to browse the web, etc., even with the hardware switch "off".

I'll submit a Help Request ticket to enTourage with this.
