Just because one company is even later does not mean that EE isnt too late. Im disappointed. 1.6 isnt functional enough for my needs. I cant even watch a movie.

At least Samsung and otherse release the beta. Linux is about community development. There is none of that here.

We are going to have Honycomb out by the time they have 2.2, and the battle will be lost. Edge will become a less and less popular niche device, and they will need a need device to re-enter the game or they will fade away and lose relevancy.

You need CAPACITIVE touch, not resistive.
You need MULTI-touch. Dont skimp on this. It needs to be quality.
You need to supper hyperlinks in the e-reader side, from the table of contents, and reformating and pdf text reflow in the reader side.
Better drawing and not taking would be nice.

Other than that, its a neat concept, but battery life is too short to be a tolerable e-reader, its too heavy, and nobody is going to buy an Android device with 1.6 unless they get fooled or dont know the difference.

4-5 months from now, nobody is going to drop good money on a NEW tablet running 2.2 either.

Android is late to the Game.

Those other companies have newer products they are working on with 3.0 honeycomb, optimized for tablets....3,0 is a game changer, more than 2.2 was. Its a small step for phones, a huge step for tablets. Its what you want on a tablet.

The two sides of the edge dont interact in a meaninful enough way. All you can do is choose content from the reader side. Its not like you have CAPACITIVE MULTI-touch on the LCD side and browsing from the reader side, or vice versa. If it was as good as Ipad touch screen, or came close to Xoom, you would have something.

The edge is made of cheap sub-par hardware and formfactor....sure, it feels sturdy enough but its too heavy and they skimped on essential touch screen technology and gave us resistive touch screen. If I had known the difference I wouldnt have bought it.

Im going to buy a xoom and a 10 inch e-reader, seperate, and place them together in one of those bindings intended for the keyboard....it will weight less than the edge and last longer....It wont be as cheap. It will probably cost me $1300, but Ill be happy with its performance.

When ARE we getting 2.2?

I cant even watch a movie in the advertised formats....I wanted to entertain my daughter on the ride down....works on my phone! Not on my edge. Im disappointed.
