Welcome to the forums, Ivan.
DRM (digital rights management) is something publishers stick on their books to help prevent them from being copied without limit. So, it's not that *you* require DRM, but rather that you need an app that can deal with the publisher's DRM.
If you've produced your own PDF, it almost certainly has no DRM. So, just copy it (using a USB memory stick, or an email, or an app like DropBox) to your eDGe, and open it - it will appear on the e-ink side.
Calibre is not required for this, but it's a useful app if you want to maintain the same set of ebooks on a PC and multiple devices, including the eDGe. Its core function is simply to copy the files to a device, but it also adds things like "tags", etc.
Post here again if you have any questions
