Common misconception. Many think open source is equivalent to "must be free" as in no charge.

There is nothing in GPL (the typical open source license) that requires you hand out the source code to everyone who asks, or prohibits you from charging money for the software you spent your time to develop. You merely have to provide a copy of the source for anyone who *purchases* the software.

As far as I'm concerned, if software is good enough to be worth running, then it is worth paying (something) for the privilege. The Android store concept is ideal for this since it makes software affordable and accessible to a large audience and provides you compensation for your hard work. (Now, if only Google would open the market to non-phone devices.)

So, don't be shy about asking for the $1.99 (give or take) that you deserve.
