I'm guessing when they say "take notes" they mean "type notes" but I can't be sure.

At first I thought this was going to be a hardware thing, but it's a Mac or PC software suite (which is what leads me to believe it's not pen input based). Kind of reminds me of something like GoBinder but that imports entire digital textbooks.
