EDIT: FWIW, for anyone else looking to do the same thing in the future, what I did was download the Google toolbar on my laptop and then use Dolphin on the Edge. Dolphin has a feature that allows you to quickly import your Google bookmarks.

I couldn't get Opera's bookmark synch to work.
