Don't you think this technique would be a huge battery drainer? I can see the sense in it, especially if it automatically changes the contrast of your display when the environment changes from light to dark and vice versa. But the rest? I think only skinning fans will love it; I personally never bothered to skin my mobile phones or PDAs with anything else but the skin they originally came with.
